Pope Leo XIV says he hopes to visit Portugal, Mexico, Peru, Argentina, and Uruguay Pope Leo XIV told reporters he would love to travel and that his top destinations are the Marian shrines of F\u00e1tima in Portugal and Guadalupe in Mexico. He also said he would \u201cof course\u201d like to return to Peru as well as visit Argentina and Uruguay. The pope shared his hopes during an impromptu press conference as he left the papal residence at Castel Gandolfo on Tuesday evening, Nov. 18. When asked when he would return to Peru and Latin America, the Holy Father explained that in 2025, \u201cduring the jubilee year, we\u2019re going ahead living each day with activities, and next year we will gradually begin planning.\u201d \u201cI love to travel,\u201d Leo XIV shared, according to Vatican News. \u201cThe problem is scheduling it with all the commitments,\u201d he added. The Jubilee Year of Hope began on Dec. 24, 2024, and will conclude on Jan. 6, 2026, with the closing of the Holy Door. The first \u2014 and so far only \u2014 confirmed trip of Pope Leo XIV is to Turkey and Lebanon, Nov. 27\u2013Dec. 2 of this year.
